Here’s everything we know about Abarth’s wild new 600e

Abarth is a brand that has gone from strength to strength. In recent times, its larger-than-life 500-based range has brought a healthy dose of style and character to the hot-hatch segment, alongside one of the most noticeable exhausts in the business.

Abarth has already started transitioning towards an electric future with its 500e, but now it is taking things one step further with the 600e. While this car is yet to be fully revealed, we’ve got some of the latest images - and info - about this very exciting new EV.

It’s set to be Abarth’s most powerful car

That’s right. For a firm known for its performance, the 600e takes a bold new step. Though entirely electric, this new 600e is set to produce 240bhp, making it Abarth’s most potent model to date. It’s also equipped with a limited-slip differential to ensure that it’s just as capable in the bends as it is in a straight line, too.

Not only is it a very powerful car for Abarth, but the 600e represents a 70bhp uplift over the standard Fiat version upon which this model is based.

There are plenty of styling upgrades to check out

Abarth models are hardly known to be shy and retiring and that’s certainly the case with the new 600e. Recent images have given us a better idea of what this go-faster model will look like, with design highlights including its wide front splitter, lower suspension and gloss rear spoiler.

In fact, there are plenty of gloss black elements used across the car while you’ll also be getting larger alloy wheels than you’ll find on the standard Fiat 600e.

The interior has been upgraded too

Abarth’s past vehicles have always featured a sporty, dynamic approach to cabin design and it’s much the same with the new 600e. There are plenty of Abarth logos, naturally, as well as an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel which features the Scorpion badge.

Abarth has also kitted the 600e with plenty of ambient interior lighting, which you’ll be able to adjust to your favourite colour - or purple, just like the exterior on these launch car images.

There’s still plenty of on-board technology

Abarth hasn’t ditched the technology that you get with the standard 600e, instead carrying over the 10-inch central screen to its go-faster model. Here, you’ll get access to key functions such as satellite navigation and media controls, but it has all been tweaked with unique Abarth graphics too.

Plus, you’ll also be able to access performance data about the car to see just how much power is being developed at any given time.

The sound generator remains

The ‘sound generator’ on the electric Abarth 500e certainly caused a stir and it’s present and correct on the 600e, too. Essentially a large speaker mounted underneath the rear bumper, it creates a loud noise which mimics the sound of the petrol-powered Abarth’s exhaust.

It’s responsive to throttle inputs, too, so it can ‘rev’ at the touch of the pedal. However, if it isn’t for you it can be switched off via the main screen.
