Lexus has created quite a clever niche for itself. These are cars which incorporate a really premium feel thanks to high-quality materials and top-notch build quality, but also bring a superb reputation for both efficiency and reliability. In fact, it’s Lexus vehicles which frequently dominate the lists of most-reliable cars on sale.
It has also been one of the front runners in the electrification game. For a long time, Lexus has included some form of hybridisation in a number of its cars, which has helped them to deliver far superior efficiency and much lower emissions than many rivals. This has been used across the range, too, from compact hatchbacks right the way through to SUVs.
The future looks very electric for Lexus. It already plans to go fully electric by 2030, with a wide variety of battery-powered models in the pipeline during the lead-up to that date. However, it has already got a good series of electric cars, offering the same technology and build quality levels that Lexus has become known for.
Each Lexus comes with a standard three-year or 60,000-mile warranty, but this can be boosted for an additional seven years each time you service your vehicle through an approved Lexus service provider. Each time you visit you can get an additional 12-month service-activated warranty top up until your vehicle is 10 years old or has driven 100,000 miles.
Each new Lexus car comes with three years of complimentary roadside breakdown assistance, too, provided by the AA. It’s available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can be used both in the UK and across 44 European countries. Plus, the cover extends to other members of your family.
All electric Lexus models get a standard eight-year or 100,000-mile warranty on the battery, though this can be extended to 10 years should you require it.

If you’re looking at a Lexus, it’s likely that you’re requiring a car that is trustworthy and won’t let you down. A consistent sight on the most-reliable lists of cars that come out each year. Lexus cars have a brilliant reputation for their reliability. It means that you shouldn’t have too many mechanical concerns during those first years of ownership.
More recently, Lexus has become known for its ultra-sharp technology. One of its core creations was the famous trackpad, which mirrored the kind of setup you’d get from a computer. It added a whole new level of interaction between driver and the car’s system.
Lexus has continued to innovate. In fact, its newest EV – the RZ – has debuted with an eye-catching new ‘yoke’ steering wheel which looks like something straight out of science fiction. It’s just another way that Lexus has managed to keep ahead of rivals.
The Lexus electric car range revolves around two SUVs – the UX and the RZ. The UX, as the entry point of the range, has a range of up to 250 miles which is competitive and bang in line with what you’d expect from the segment.
As we’ve come to expect from Lexus models, it’s also got loads of standard equipment with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto included from the off. A full suite of assistance systems such as radar cruise control and a pre-collision system ensures that the whole family will be kept as safe as possible.
The larger RZ, meanwhile, is a great idea if you need a little more space. It’s capable of travelling for up to 271 miles on a single charge, yet its performance isn’t something to be sniffed at, with 0-60mph coming in just over five seconds. It’s got some really eye-catching design features, too, from the ‘quadruple’ LED headlights and a special ‘blade’ rear light which looks particularly striking at night. Inside, there’s a 14-inch high-definition touchscreen, while an optional panoramic sunroof incorporates a clever ‘dimming’ function which allows you to tailor the amount of light that filters through to the cabin at a touch of a button.
