Why choose an electric Kia?

Kia has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Far from being a ‘budget’ brand, it is now producing a wide range of well-built models with some of the latest equipment around and a great level of refinement.

But Kia has also established a really strong reputation for reliability too. Helped no end by an impressive seven-year warranty, Kia’s cars are now one of the go-to choices if you’re after a car that won’t go wrong. Plus, efficient engines with low emissions – and an increasing integration of hybrid tech – means that this reliability is backed by some really fuel-saving powertrains.

More pressingly, Kia has also taken a very forward stance on electric power. It now has a great range of battery-powered models that have those same core values that Kia has been known for but with some very clever electric technology. It has also tied this together with added performance, too, in the ultra-focused EV6 GT – it’s capable of out-pacing supercars, in fact.

What is Kia's warranty and breakdown cover like? What does it cover?

Kia’s warranty is one of the best in the business. It covers the car for seven years of 100,000 miles, and it’s not restricted to just that initial user, either, you can pass it on to the next owner who will continue to benefit from the remaining time or mileage. It’s standard with all Kia models, too.

When it comes to breakdown cover, each Kia model receives 12 months of full RAC-provided assistance, available 24 hours a day throughout the UK and Europe.

In conjunction with the standard warranty, Kia’s electric vehicles are also covered for seven years – including the battery.

What are the key selling points for Kia?

As we’ve touched upon, one of Kia’s top selling points is its reliability. When coupled with that seven-year warranty, its cars offer a great level of peace of mind that’ll mean you shouldn’t have any big bills or scary repairs to deal with for thousands of miles. Its cars are also packed with standard equipment across the board, making them very value-focused and a great option for those drivers that like plenty of gadgets.

Kia’s latest infotainment systems are very easy to use, too, while clever smartphone integration services like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mean that mirroring your phone’s apps on the car’s screen is a breeze. Luxurious items such as heated seats and a heated steering wheel are often found as standard on Kia’s range of electric vehicles.

Electric power is at the heart of Kia’s future plans, too. It’s why we’ve already seen cars like the EV9 revealed as concepts for the brand’s upcoming models. They also incorporate a range of eco-friendly materials, with the EV9, for example, replacing animal leathers with products derived from corn and eucalyptus. Kia says that this will help to reduce overall CO2 emissions without forsaking durability.
