Vauxhall has a great reputation when it comes to its vans, and it has been producing commercial models for many years. It’s also arguably the most ‘British’ of all van makers, with the firm producing vehicles at two factories in the UK – Luton, where the Vivaro is made, and Ellesmere Port, the new home of the Combo. Vauxhall is the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in Britain, too.
Vauxhall was also one of the first van manufacturers to fully electrify its line-up, with battery-powered versions of the Combo, Vivaro and Movano all available, and as a result, it’s currently the most popular electric van firm in the UK too.
With a great choice of models available, and each available in a range of different derivatives, there are plenty of reasons to make your new electric van a Vauxhall.
New Vauxhall vans come with a three-year vehicle warranty. There is no mileage limit in that first year, but the overall mileage is capped at 60,000 miles in the second and third years. You also get a five-year body panel anti-perforation warranty. Vauxhall also covers the battery for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes sooner, which covers you if the battery capacity falls below 70 per cent in that period.
New diesel vans also come with 12 months of free Vauxhall Assistance, but on fully electric models this cover is extended to three years.

We’ve touched on it already but the ‘Britishness’ is a key reason to look at Vauxhall. Many other firms, such as Ford, have moved production of their commercial models away from the UK, but Vauxhall’s commitment to the UK gives it a key selling point.
Vauxhall has also made a very strong commitment when it comes to electric vans, being one of the first to offer an EV model for every commercial vehicle it sells, ranging from the compact Combo up to the large Movano. Each is available in different sizes and trim levels to suit a wider choice of buyers. The British firm is even working on a hydrogen fuel-cell-powered van, which is due to be launched later in 2023.
Each van is also very generously equipped and represents good value for money next to the opposition, with higher-spec models coming laden with premium features. Highlights include a heated steering wheel, surround-view cameras and blind spot monitoring, which are all pieces of equipment usually associated with more expensive cars.
Vauxhall currently offers three electric vans – the Combo, Vivaro and Movano. Highlights of each are as follows.
If you’re looking for a compact but impressively versatile van, you should take a look at the Combo Electric. Available as a panel van or crew van with rear seats and side windows, it can also be specified in two load lengths and offers a payload up to 800kg. Equipped with a 50kWh battery, Vauxhall claims it can travel up to 175 miles on a single charge.
The Vivaro is one of the most popular vans on the market and has been a key model for Vauxhall for some time. It can be had as a regular panel van, a double cab and also a platform cab, which enables it to be converted for a range of uses. Packed with technology and offering a payload of up to 1,226kg, the Vivaro Electric also offers a claimed range of up to 205 miles.
The largest of all of Vauxhall’s vans is the Movano. Offered in a choice of two load lengths, this is an ideal option for those carrying bulkier items, and boasts a payload of up to 1,150kg. The battery is located into the floor to ensure there’s no compromise on load volume, while Vauxhall claims a 139-mile range from the Movano.
