Polestar is one of the newest car firms to reach the UK. It started out life as Volvo’s performance arm, creating legendary models like the V60 Polestar, but in 2019 Polestar went its own way, introducing the ‘1’ as its first standalone model – a stunning 600bhp plug-in hybrid coupe. This signalled Polestar’s intent to become a new electric performance brand.
Since then, it’s only introduced one further model – the Polestar 2, a smart electric fastback. But even that one model has set Polestar well on its way to success, with the firm now proving more popular than well-established brands like Jaguar.
Earning a reputation for its cars’ style, technology and innovative purchase and maintenance methods, it’s resonating with plenty of buyers. Polestar will also be expanding its line-up, with the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, two new electric SUVs which are expected to prove popular.
The main Polestar warranty covers the first three years of ownership, up to 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. Any repairs or replacements needed to any faulty components, including any paint defects. There’s also a 12-year corrosion warranty in the unlikely event that rust perforation occurs in that time. As for the important battery element, any defects will be resolved within the first eight years or 100,000 miles. A gradual loss of battery capacity will not be covered.
Roadside assistance is also included in those first three years too, for as long as the main warranty. You can also quickly contact Polestar Assistance 24/7 by pressing the ‘CONNECT’ button in the car, or through the Polestar app.

Design is absolutely at the heart of what Polestar is all about. In fact, Polestar’s CEO Thomas Ingenlath was previously the chief designer at Volvo. That helps to explain why these Swedish electric cars absolutely major on looks, with a smart, sleek Scandinavian design underpinning everything Polestar does.
While the Polestar 3 SUV is due on sale shortly, for the time being, there’s still a lot going for the firm’s only current model – the Polestar 2. This stylish fastback is a combination of a saloon and SUV, and offers a great interior and an enjoyable driving experience. There’s a great choice of versions on offer too, with the car offering a fantastic range of up to 394 miles.
If you’re looking to make a new car purchase motivated by sustainability, Polestar will likely resonate too. The firm is committing to the environment more than virtually any other carmaker, with the firm already offering leather-free, vegan-friendly models. It is also working towards building a climate-neutral car by 2030, while it is also one of the only current car firms to release a full ‘life cycle assessment’ for the environmental footprint of its cars.
Polestar’s first mass-market car came in 2020 with the Polestar 2. An innovative-styled EV that blurs the boundaries between a saloon and an SUV, it delivers an on-trend rugged look with an elevated driving experience and has an exceptionally cool image surrounding it.
The interior is also one of the best around, headed up by a large portrait touchscreen that looks great and is also intuitive to use, while the build quality is outstanding.
Polestar has also recently tweaked the 2, giving it a fresher look while making tweaks to the electric motors and batteries to enhance performance and range further. The Long Range version also offers a seriously impressive 395 miles (claimed) between charges – 52 miles more than the previous car. With a great choice of powertrains, there’s a Polestar 2 to suit most audiences.

Later in 2023 Polestar will expand its range to include a second model, the Polestar 3. It will be the EV firm’s first electric SUV, and boasts a unique design language inspired by the firm’s Precept concept car.
Heralding the next generation of Polestars, this sleek SUV comes equipped with a large 107kWh battery that will allow for up to 379 miles of range, while a ‘Performance Pack’ model will serve up an impressive 510bhp and 910Nm of torque.

Thinking of leasing a new Polestar car? Here are some of our most common Polestar FAQs.
The answer is Yes, and certainly as far as our health is concerned. Electric cars produce zero emissions from the tailpipe and significantly less emissions over their lifetime than traditional petrol or diesel powered cars. Additionally, many electric utility companies produce electricity using renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, which further reduces the environmental impact of electric cars.
At the moment the Polestar model with one of the longest EV ranges is the Polestar 3 Long Range which boasts an impressive estimated range of around 345 miles! This is thanks to its large 111kWh battery pack.
It's important to note, the actual range of your Polestar can vary depending on a number of factors including weather conditions and your driving style.
