Why choose an electric Maxus van?

The Maxus name might be a little unfamiliar here in the UK, but you might recognise the company that it used to be called - LDV. China-based firm SAIC made a reputation for itself in its native market with Maxus vehicles but expanded this through the acquisition of LDV back in 2010.

Since then, it has completely revitalised LDV’s fortunes by rebranding it as Maxus in right-hand drive markets such as the UK. Price is core to the Maxus appeal, but it has also gained a reputation for reliability and standard equipment levels, while a wide-spanning dealer network means that there’s significant support to all drivers of Maxus vehicles.

Maxus has also committed to more sustainable motoring, which is why it has already introduced two electric vans which have already taken Europe and the UK by storm. Reliability is something Maxus drivers have been able to take advantage of, too, and this is something that is being transferred through to its cutting-edge electric vans too.

But as well as that efficient electric powertrain, Maxus battery-powered models still bring the same space and versatility that you’d expect from a traditional van. There are some serious fuel savings to be taken advantage of, however, as well as lower maintenance costs as a result of fewer moving parts.

What is the warranty and breakdown cover like? What does it cover?

Maxus vans get a really comprehensive warranty, with five years of coverage included on each new model. It means you’ve got that added peace of mind wherever you go and whatever job you do. Plus, with numerous service centres up and down the country, there’s likely to be a location very nearby where you can get any issues resolved.

There’s a three-year warranty for the paintwork as well, alongside a 10 year anti-corrosion warranty. When it comes to electric vans, these models have their batteries covered for eight years and this covers capacity loss.

Alongside this warranty, you also get five years of breakdown assistance, which brings 24 hours of coverage 365 days a year. It covers the vehicle in both the UK and Ireland, too.

What are the key selling points for Maxus?

Value is something that is central to Maxus vehicles. This doesn’t mean scrimping on the essentials, mind you, with all of the firm’s vans coming with plenty of standard equipment and features. You’ve got loads of options when it comes to sizes and lengths, too. Maxus prides itself on its ‘forward thinking mentality’, too, which is why it has continued to develop its electric vans so that they’re now some of the most accomplished and user-friendly on sale today.

As we’ve touched upon, a strong dealer network - which has been continuously invested in - means you’ve got plenty of support, regardless of the fleet size you’re running. Be it one van or several, there’s always going to be backing to your Maxus vehicle.

You’ll also find some of the latest technology in Maxus’s vehicles, too. For example, its eDeliver model incorporates high-tech functions such as automatic emergency braking, lane change assist and a lane departure warning system, which are all functions you’d be happy to see in the latest passenger vehicles - let alone a van. It goes to highlight the high standards that Maxus builds its vans to and how it aims to include the very latest systems in its vehicles.

Electric van model highlights? What’s in the Maxus van range and what’s popular?

The Maxus electric van range kicks off with the eDeliver 3. It’s got a very respectable range of up to 213 miles, yet still incorporates a 945kg payload. Thanks to lightweight materials, the eDeliver 3 can offer good performance that ensures it can keep up with everyday traffic.

There’s loads of standard tech on board, too, including a full infotainment system and automatic headlights, while cruise control and rear parking sensors make day-to-day driving easier. On the comfort side, heated seats will make those chilly winter days a little more pleasant, while full Bluetooth connectivity means that taking and making important calls on the go will be a breeze.

If you need a bit more space, then there’s the eDeliver 9. It’s capable of returning up to 219 miles of range when equipped with the largest 88kWh battery option, while fast charging capabilities mean an 80 per cent top up could be completed in as little as 40 minutes. The ‘double wing’ rear doors mean you’ve got easy access to the rear of the van, while inside you’ll find plenty of storage space. Standard equipment is plentiful as well, with 16-inch alloy wheels included alongside LED daytime running lights, a multifunction steering wheel and a full infotainment system.
