MG is going all-out with a pair of new models which look to radically change what this well-known brand’s range will look like.

Here at My Electric Lease, we’re proud to offer some of the very latest MG models, including the MG4 and sleek IM5, but what are these new concepts bringing? Let’s take a closer look.

What are these new concepts?

MG hasn’t released one, but two new concepts and they both do things a little bit differently. Let’s check them out individually.

MG Go!

The compact MG Go! is an electric hot-hatch that’ll rival the likes of the Renault 5 and Mini Cooper. While it’s just a concept for now, MG has already stated that it’s a ‘preview of a future compact hatchback due in 2027’, meaning that you could see it among our range of electric car deals next year.

Created by MG’s London-based design studio, the Go! has a retro-inspired design which, the brand says, draws inspiration from cars like the MGB GT and MG Metro Turbo. We love the compact dimensions of the Go!, with the boxy wheelarches housing wheels that are pushed right out the corners of the car. At the rear, there’s a compact spoiler, while at the front, there’s a dynamic front splitter. It’s unclear if these design touches will make it into the production car, of course.

MG Cyber Concept

Then, we’ve got the Cyber Concept. It’s a large SUV, so it’s rivalling the likes of the BMW X5, or even new upstarts such as the Jaecoo 8 and Omoda 9. MG says that the Cyber Concept is designed to offer ‘performance without compromise’ and it’s certainly got plenty of styling touches to talk about.

Highlights include the huge bonnet inlet area which will help to improve aerodynamic efficiency, and like the Go! there’s a huge front splitter to smooth out airflow at the nose of the car. Much like the Go!, we’ve not been given any information about the Cyber Concept’s powertrain or interior, but it’s more than likely that it’ll get a fully electric setup.

MG4

The MG4 is a car which broke into the EV mainstream with a bang. Packed with technology and featuring a sharp exterior design, the MG4 has an impressive range of up to 338 miles if you opt for an Extended Range model.

Like all MG cars, the MG4 gets plenty of standard equipment too, with highlights including a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, 360-degree parking camera and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

MG IM5

The IM5 forms part of MG’s new ‘IM’ sub-brand. Designed to offer even more luxury than a standard MG, the IM line-up includes the sleek and aerodynamic IM5. It’s got standout features such as a huge 26.3-inch infotainment system, too, alongside comfortable heated and ventilated seats and a large panoramic roof.

The IM5 can also manage up to 441 miles from a single charge thanks to its large battery.

MGS5 EV

The MGS5 EV is the latest in what has become a long line of MG SUVs. Here, in electric form, you can get up to 298 miles of range from a single charge in Long Range cars, or up to 211 miles in Standard Range models.

The MGS5 EV focuses on ease-of-use and practicality, too, with a 453-litre boot making it one of the more capable load-luggers around.
