These are some of the best electric cars to check out today
The best electric cars in September 2023
We know we talk a lot about electric cars, hey it’s what we do best. So here is a great selection of EVs for you to check out today! From the impressive and mighty Jeep Avenger to the smaller new kid on the block GWM ORA Funky Cat, one of these might just catch your eye and be your next new electric car.
MG 5
MG has been absolutely storming the electric car market here in the UK. There’s good reason for that, too, as it has been creating cars that manage a very usable amount of range but at a price which undercuts much of the segment.
The MG 5 is one of its most practical models. It’s also one of the only electric estate cars available today and delivers a range of up to 250 miles from a single charge.

GWM Ora Funky Cat
The eye-catching Funky Cat is one of the most head-turning EVs available at the moment, but it’s not all about looks alone. With a range of 193 miles, it’s got more than enough in the ‘tank’ for most occasions, while inside it’s well made and has loads of features.
Though its smaller size might mean that larger families won’t find the Funky Cat suits their needs, for everyday driving it’ll prove ideal. Relatively small dimensions mean it’s great for inner-city and urban drivers, too.

Renault Megane E-Tech Electric
It’s quite a test for manufacturers to transfer much-loved models into the electric age, but Renault appears to have nailed it with the new Megane E-Tech Electric. Despite the well-known badge, this is a car which sits on a brand-new platform which brings plenty of interior space and a very pleasant ride.
With up to 280 miles of range, it’s got long-distance journeys covered, too, while a large boot means it’s got plenty of space for luggage.
Jeep Avenger
The new Avenger marks a brand-new age for Jeep. This is a chunky, off-road-looking compact SUV with an electric powertrain, combining the rugged aesthetic of a Jeep with a modern, emissions-free driving setup.
It’s well packaged inside, too, and you should get up to 245 miles from a single charge as well.

Volkswagen ID.5
Volkswagen has broadened its line-up of electric vehicles in recent years, with the ‘ID’ range of electric cars now incorporating a variety of different shapes and sizes. The ID.5 is one of its largest and most striking-looking cars, delivering an SUV shape but with a sleek fastback roof.
It’s large and practical inside, while a large central touchscreen gives access to all of the car’s major functions. A large battery means you could get up to 327 miles from a charge, too.

Tesla Model 3
Tesla is now one of the go-to names in the electric car segment. Of course, its slightly off-the-wall CEO Elon Musk generates quite a lot of headlines, but the cars themselves have proven a hit with buyers thanks to their clever in-car technology and plentiful range.
The Model 3 has been one of Tesla’s most popular models, with this BMW 3 Series-sized model bringing space and a range of up to 374 miles. Tesla’s widespread Supercharger network, which makes topping up easy, is another crucial plus point.

Polestar 2
Polestar is a relative newcomer on the electric car scene but has already made a big impact. This is largely down to the 2, which is an electric crossover-style model with striking looks and a classically Scandinavian stripped-back interior.
It’s really spacious inside, too, while the overall material quality is great. In its long-range specification, the 2 could return up to 406 miles of range too.
