Mercedes has more years of car-building history than most, and its reputation for quality, luxurious products is upheld today. Few manufacturers are as acclaimed or desirable in the premium car world, with its high-quality interiors standing out for all the right reasons, and these days they have the technology to go with it thanks to Mercedes’ top-tier MBUX infotainment system.
The Mercedes range is one of the most extensive around, with the firm offering an astonishing 43 different products, from the A-Class hatchback to high-end Maybach models and the brand’s highly-regarded AMG performance division, which has produced some stunning sports cars over the years. These days Mercedes is also offering a wide range of electric and hybrid models under its ‘EQ’ division with its EQS saloon boasting the longest range of any EV on the market.
So, if you value quality, craftsmanship and opulence, regardless of the sector you’re looking at, it’s worth looking at a Mercedes-Benz.
Of all the premium brands, Mercedes offers one of the most comprehensive warranties. New models are supplied with a three-year warranty, but unlike other companies, there is no cap on the mileage limit, making a Mercedes an ideal choice for drivers doing lots of miles. Providing the car hasn’t been modified, Mercedes will arrange for the repair and replacement of any parts necessary to get you on the road as quickly as possible.
The warranty is slightly different for plug-in hybrid (PHEVs) and electric models. For PHEVs, the battery is covered for up to six years or 62,500 miles, whichever comes sooner. For electric models, the EQC, EQV, EQA and EQB have a battery warranty lasting up to eight years or 100,000 miles, while the battery in the flagship EQE, EQS and EQS SUV are covered for up to 155,000 miles or 10 years. Again, whichever comes sooner.
As for roadside assistance, Mercedes come with three years of complimentary cover, supplied by the RAC, across the UK and Europe.

That three-pointed star on a Mercedes is a significant status symbol, and it’s a key selling point for this German brand. Every Mercedes has a clear lineage with its design, and ensures that all of Mercedes’ models are linked through the way they look.
Mercedes also continues to lead the way when it comes to technology. Its cars have introduced many innovations over the years, and its cars continue to lead the way when it comes to the latest safety advancements.
Its Mercedes-Benz User Experience (shortened to MBUX) offers some of the best connected functions of any car, while some of the brand’s latest electric cars are now available with what’s known as a ‘Hyperscreen’ – three digital displays strewn out across the interior, and occupying a huge 56 inches of surface area. When fitted to the EQE and EQS models, it truly propels the cabins up another level.
Quality runs throughout the Mercedes line-up too, from its more affordable cars like the A-Class through to the upmarket EQS and S-Class, you’re guaranteed an upmarket interior filled with the highest-quality materials, from the seats through to the dashboard trim and the digital displays as well.
As part of Mercedes’ EQ electric car division, the brand offers a wide range of EVs. with seven different models already on offer. Let’s take a look at what's available.
The most accessible electric model from Mercedes is the EQA. It’s an all-electric sibling to the GLA, and the firm’s most popular EV in the UK. Standing out with its stylish design and tech-laden interior, it also boasts a range of up to 264 miles.
If you’re shopping around for a fully electric premium family car, you shouldn’t look much further than the Mercedes EQB. A sibling model to the GLB, it comes with seven seats as standard, which is a huge rarity when it comes to electric SUVs.
The EQC was Mercedes’ original ‘EQ’ model, and even several years after it first went on sale, it remains a popular and desirable electric SUV. Offering a comfortable ride and bold styling, the EQC is also able to travel for up to 254 miles on a charge.
Aiming to be the all-electric equivalent of the E-Class, the EQE is one of Mercedes’ newest electric models, with this EV saloon delivering when it comes to its futuristic interior. It is supremely comfortable as well, while a 384-mile range could be ideal for those doing longer trips.
If range is the most important factor when it comes to choosing an electric car, it’s impossible to ignore the Mercedes EQS, which boasts a sensational electric range of up to 453 miles. Its superb rapid charging speeds also mean the battery can be charged to 80 per cent in as little as 31 minutes if connected to a fast enough charger.
Mercedes is also expanding the EQS line-up to include a more practical SUV derivative. Offering the same focus on luxury, comfort and refinement as the saloon version, it still boasts a range of up to 365 miles and an especially high-end interior.
If the need for spaciousness outranks everything else when it comes to choosing your new electric car, the EQV is the best choice in the Mercedes line-up. Offering space for seven adult occupants in comfort, and still with room left over for luggage, it’s an ideal choice for large families or those in the chauffeur market. A 213-mile electric range is one of the longest for a car of this type too.
