If you’re in the market for an EV, Peugeot is a great brand to choose because of its sheer range of electric models on offer. The line-up already comprises of four models, from the compact e-208 supermini to the seven-seat e-Traveller MPV. Later this year there will also be new electric versions of the 308, 308 SW estate car and also its new 408 fastback as well, giving it one of the most comprehensive line-ups of electric cars.
While Peugeot has always been a popular brand, the firm has really been able to head into a more upmarket positioning in recent years. Starting with cars like the second-generation 3008 in 2016, and continuing ever since, this firm’s cars are now increasingly able to rival far more upmarket and premium brands thanks to their stylish exterior design and high-quality interiors.
Despite this push upmarket, Peugeot continues to offer affordable cars for the masses, particularly with models like the e-208. The level of equipment on offer, regardless of which car you go for, is impressive too.
When buying a new Peugeot, it will come as standard with a three-year warranty, or 60,000 miles – whichever comes sooner. During those first two years, there’s no cap on the mileage, however.
Peugeot will cover the cost of repair or replacement of any defective parts that fall outside of its wear and tear guidelines during this time. On top of the aforementioned coverage, electric models also have an eight-year warranty for their batteries.
While petrol and diesel Peugeot models come with 12 months of roadside assistance, on electric and plug-in hybrid models, the French firm provides breakdown cover for eight years or 100,000 miles (whichever occurs first), supplied by the RAC.

The design of modern Peugeots is perhaps the ultimate selling point for this French firm’s range of cars, which are without doubt some of the most eye-catching on the road. With dynamic styling details, such as the ‘Claw’ headlights – a nod to Peugeot’s ‘Lion’ heritage – even the brand’s more affordable cars deliver when it comes to styling.
Inside, Peugeot interiors are also quite different to other manufacturers thanks to the firm’s ‘i-Cockpit’ layout. Including a small steering wheel and digital instrument cluster ahead of the driver, it gives these cars an especially modern-feeling cabin. The quality on offer inside is fantastic, too, with a range of high-end digital displays and materials coming together to create a premium-feeling cabin.
The choice of electric Peugeots is also a real bonus. If you can manage with a small car, the electric e-208 is a great choice, while if a SUV is more up your street, there’s the slightly roomier e-2008. But if something more spacious is needed, there’s the choice of the e-Rifter and e-Traveller. While based on vans, these models make for hugely useful and practical family transport.
Peugeot has a growing line-up of electric models, with a range of new EVs also due on sale shortly. Here’s what’s currently available.
As the electric version of what is the best-selling car across Europe, the e-208 is a compact EV that delivers on many important fronts. Offering a stylish design and great interior, this small Peugeot is also good to drive and well-equipped as standard. A claimed 225-mile range is also great for a vehicle of this size.
Peugeot’s 2008 is now one of the most popular crossovers on the market, and it’s no surprise that the electric e-2008 is also going down very well with customers. Based on the same underpinnings as the e-208, it offers more appealing SUV styling and improved interior space. It can travel up to a claimed 214 miles on a full charge, while if hooked up to a 100kW rapid charger, it can take just 30 minutes to recover 80 per cent of range. This speedy charging is a feature of all electric Peugeot models.
If practicality is more important, you should take a look at the e-Rifter. Originally available with petrol and diesel engines too, Peugeot now just sells this electric model. Available in two lengths, the e-Rifter is available with up to seven seats, and makes for an ideal electric family car. It boasts a claimed range of up to 172 miles.
Peugeot’s largest electric model is the e-Traveller. The passenger version of the Expert van, and can be specified in a Standard or Long length, with room to accommodate up to nine passengers. The second and third rows of seats are both removable to open up more cargo-carrying ability, with plenty of creature comforts also available on the e-Traveller. When fully charged, you can expect a claimed range of up to 143 miles.
